SPEED UP U TORRENT IN 30 SECONDS

Increase your utorrent download speeds!

THE PROBLEM:

My utorrent torrent downloads are way too slow!

THE PRINCIPLE:

BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer (a network architecture in which there is no central server; all computers are equal participants) file sharing system that reduces dependency on the original uploader by making it possible for everyone who downloads the file to be capable of offering it to others by automatic anonymous 

upload. The more people who download the file (and therefore host the pieces they already have), the faster the file is downloaded. This format is especially useful for large files such as games,movies, music etc.

The terms seed (or seeder) and leech (or leecher) are widely used in BitTorrent Clients.Understanding these 2 terms will help you to choose good torrent files. A seed (or seeder) is anyone who has one complete copy of the file being shared across the torrent network. A leech (or a leecher) is the person who does not have the complete file yet but has joined the network to download it. A BitTorrent Client is a software that uses the peer-to-peer file sharing protocol to download files. There exist many BitTorrent Clients (for a list of BitTorrent Clients visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_BitTorrent_clients) but the most used is utorrent. Read on to discover how to increase utorrent download speeds in few steps.

THE SOLUTION:

 Open utorrent and go to Options>Preferences (or use the shortcut CTRL + P) For easier readability, i have provided screenshots showing how your preferences must be set (NOTE: This screenshots are taken on utorrent 3.2 eventhough most of the options are identical,they might have different a appearence on earlier versions)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Once you are done,you can start downloading. Choose good torrents for even betterspeeds. A good torrent is simply one whose seeder:leecher ratio is very high (there are many more uploaders than downloaders).If the ratio is less than or equal to 1 (number of seeders less than or equal to number of leechers) you might faceproblems to have the download finished even after applying the above tricks.
